Mediation is a process where parties resolve their dispute with the assistance of a neutral third person. The neutral third party who is known by the name of Mediator through negotiation and use of communication techniques help parties to reach a settlement. Mediation is a party centered process where parties amicably reach to a mutually acceptable solution. A successful mediation is dependent upon two inter-related factors: The willingness of the parties to resolve their dispute and the skill of the mediator in guiding the parties to the point where agreement is possible.
